In May 2021, Habi Education Lab formed a research team to conduct a market research to understand the context of learning and development (L&D) during the pandemic. The team focused on understanding the context of the learning and development topics, techniques, and technology.
“Topic” describes the specific content areas needed to navigate the new normal. “Technique” describes the modes and pedagogies for delivering L&D programs and interventions. “Technology” describes the tools being leveraged to deliver L&D programs and interventions amidst the restrictions on face-to-face modalities.

Understanding the changing context of L&D
As a group of learning experience designers, we agree with the statement “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste.” Although the pandemic has caused a lot of disruptions to our conventional ways of working, it also presents a unique learning experience not just for our organization, but for the larger community as well.

Engaging Stakeholders, amplifying perspectives
To have a better understanding of the context of L&D in the Philippines, Habi Education Lab conducted interviews and focus group discussions with selected representatives from different sectors in the country. These sectors include: Education, Government, Private, International and Local NGOs
Making Research Accessible
Driven by a community mindset of sharing the insights gained from the market research, Habi made a Thinkpiece and shared it with its community. Habi also presented the Thinkpiece in different platforms and designed poster presentations to make the research more accessible to the community.
